SUMMARY:“J’ai vu des choses que j’ai imaginées” (I saw things I imagined) [Exhibition]
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the preview of Rachel Marsil’s (@rachel.marsil) first solo exhibition in Nigeria\, on 7 March from 4pm. \nOpening during @lagosgalleryweekend \, and the second presentation within FF Projects’ year-long residency at Alára Lagos\, the exhibition brings together works made over an 18-month period (2024–2025)\, during which the artist turned her focus toward the interior lives of her ever-present female figures. \nThis series also reflects the artist’s own journey into Africa\, and how what began as an observational and curious practice\, evolved into a welcoming community that she was decidedly part of. As such\, these works allow a glimpse into what happens when you cross the boundary of diasporic imagination into local reality.\n•\n📅Opening 7 March (16.00-18.00). On view until 6 April at Alára \n🏛️As part of a year-long @_ff_projects residency at @alaralagos \nDetails by @nothingtodoinlagos. \n*** \nDisclaimer: Unless explicitly stated\, ArtGuideAfrica does not own\, endorse and is not affiliated with any event/organisation included on this event calendar. SUMMARY:"What Shaped Us Does Not Disappear" [Exhibition]
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to present “What Shaped Us Does Not Disappear\,” a solo exhibition by German-Nigerian artist Joke Amusan\, opening on Sunday\, March 8 at 2 PM \nThe works inhabit space like bodies in a gentle conversation\, revealing the bonds that hold us. Hanging from branches and reaching into space\, they bridge the human and natural worlds. Organic forms emerge through cocoons\, twisting vines\, and spiralling structures that allude to cyclical journeys\, movements inward toward origin\, and outward across generations \nJoin us Sunday 8th March 2026\, 2 PM\nFor more information or inquiries\, kindly email \n[CLOSED SUNDAYs & MONDAYS] \nFor more information or inquiries\, kindly email manager@galleryaffinity.com \nDetails by @galleryaffinity. \n*** \nDisclaimer: Unless explicitly stated\, ArtGuideAfrica does not own\, endorse and is not affiliated with any event/organisation included on this event calendar. SUMMARY:Ayotunde Ojo: A Life of Its Own [Solo Exhibition]
DESCRIPTION:OPENING NEXT WEEK \nTiwani Contemporary is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Ayotunde Ojo\, ‘A Life Of Its Own’\, at its Lagos gallery. \nOjo presents his domestic interiors as living\, shifting spaces\, altered by light\, stillness and movement\, subtly capturing the temporal shifts that coexist within a shared space. \nThe exhibition reflects an awareness that life does not stand still. Relationships between lovers\, friends\, family and animals carry moments of closeness and potential friction. By layering multiple scenes together\, Ojo introduces a quiet tension into the compositions. The home\, perceived primarily as a site of stability\, can become a space that both shelters and mirrors the instabilities of the outside world. \nExhibition dates: 26 March – 27 June 2026 (Update! Now closing 16th May)\nOpening reception: Thursday\, 26 March 2026\, 6:00 – 10:00 pm \nDetails by @tiwanicontemporary. \n*** \nDisclaimer: Unless explicitly stated\, ArtGuideAfrica does not own\, endorse and is not affiliated with any event/organisation included on this event calendar.
