Chapter Two: FESTAC ’77 Beyond Nostalgia [A Salon Conversation]
March 28 @ 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
₦16500

Nahous and Carté Lagos present Chapter Two of the Carté Salon series.
This salon returns to FESTAC ’77, one of the most ambitious cultural gatherings in African history. While the first chapter examined the ideological background and ambitions that shaped the festival, this conversation turns to what followed.
Together we will consider the aftermath of FESTAC ’77: the structures that carried it, the institutions it was expected to sustain, and the question of what remained once the moment of spectacle had passed.
Through archival material, film excerpts, and guided discussion, the salon invites participants to reflect on cultural ambition, memory, and continuity in Nigeria.
The conversation takes place at the Old Federal Palace at Nahous.
